Dear Maintainer,

The program crashes when clicking the "Select item(s)" button with the
simulation probe selected. When I run the program from the terminal, the phrase
"Sharding failure" appears.

Short summary:
After completing the simulation calculations, selecting the wire in the
"Schematic Editor" and clicking the "Select item(s)" (arrow) button at the top
right to see the waveform in a node crashes the program.

this sounds like some issue related to libngspice.

You might try to install the libngspice0 package from experimental release and retry your steps.

If this does not help at least some down striped KiCad project files would be needed so we can try to re-adjust your setup. Without any data it's impossible to see the issue on my side.

Please provide some more information (data, logs, steps etc.) what you are doing.

Extra note:
Debian is now quite short before the full freeze of the bookworm release, unfortunately the KiCad 7 release did happen to late by upstream to make it available in bookworm. Even if your issue is a upstream issue no fixup for the old 6.x release will happen. It's also possible that your issue isn't happen within KiCad 7. KiCad 7 is in Debian available also in the experimental release. It's build on top of unstable so you should be able to simply install the packages on the CLI after a potential modification of your sources.list data.
