Hello, The width attribute of imagedata is not ignored. But the stylesheet makes a decision, what to print depending on the scalefit attribute value and the result of a calculation in your testcase. If that is interesting for you, have a look at /usr/share/xml/docbook/stylesheet/nwalsh/html/graphics.xsl in template <xsl:template name="process.image.attributes"> and the description of the imagedata element.
