Cleanup of *.old-dkms has been implemented upstream in 2.4.0 (but that does not take care of leftover files for no longer installed kernels). REMAKE_INITRD has been deprecated upstream and all related code has been dropped in upstream 2.8.8. (bookworm will ship with 3.0.x.)

I'll add cleanup of the remaining *.old-dkms files on upgrades from bullseye (the last release where they were generated).
