Dear Maintainer,
Starting about a week ago Firefox would after some time
immediately close any dialog windows (like settings burger on the
right, password auto-fill pop-up, add-on icons add-ons). The only
work-around that is restarting the browser. I found restarting
the browser would 100+% peg a process with a bunch of Youtube
tabs but all unloaded. I found that if I use about:profiles
and start with add-ons disabled I would not see the high cpu
usage. Then I manually disabled all add-ons, and restarted
normally, and high cpu load was back. Then I created new
profile and even in the initial start all dialogs would
auto-close. reportbugs told me to try the version in
unstable, so that's what I did (from pretty much 100% stable
distribution). No change but also it wasn't the -2 version
it claimed that was available. I grabbed a strace of
the process with high cpu load and it showed a seemly busy loop
for:
"recvmsg(648, {msg_namelen=0}, 0) = -1 EAGAIN (Resource temporarily
unavailable)"
Sometime before that, may be a month ago, firefox
would start to shutdown after some run-time. .xsession-errors
reports:
CPU time limit exceeded
Other than security updates, I don't recall making any system
changes. I see #1010420 which may be related, and I am reporting
3 abnormalities here. Happy to split into separate bugs whatever
works best for you. Also, I want to be as helpful as possible to
see if we can figure out what is going on. chromium seem to not
exhibit any issues (as super weak "system" data point).
