There is always the possibility that a show-stopper in gnome-2 gnucash will force retroversion to gnucash 1.8. So my intention is that, once gnucash 2.0 is released and migrates into testing, I will either obsolete or orphan the packages that I have been maintaining which support the old 1.8 gnucash. We have had enough problems in Debian caused by removing obsolete packages instantly, and I'm not going to contribute to the problem.
