Package: emacs Followup-For: Bug #1026226 Dear Maintainer,
I hereby retract my bug report. The behavior I observed is related to a property described in the Emacs manual about how Emacs creates backup files by default. This setting can be changed by the user. That takes care of the issue. I guess I better take care of the coffee ... -- System Information: Debian Release: bookworm/sid APT prefers testing APT policy: (990, 'testing'), (99, 'unstable'), (1, 'experimental') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Kernel: Linux 6.1.0-5-amd64 (SMP w/12 CPU threads; PREEMPT) Locale: LANG=de_DE.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=de_DE.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8), LANGUAGE=de:en_GB:en_US Shell: /bin/sh linked to /usr/bin/dash Init: systemd (via /run/systemd/system) LSM: AppArmor: enabled Versions of packages emacs depends on: ii emacs-gtk 1:28.2+1-10 emacs recommends no packages. emacs suggests no packages. -- debconf-show failed
