I first suggest that you check in the *current* code of samba whether this problem is still here. I have actually no time for such investigation but I prefer not leaving the issue unanswered. Too much code has changed in samba in many places between 3.0.14 and 3.0.22 and samba upstream only wants to deal with the current codebase.
