Package: feh Severity: minor X-Debbugs-Cc: solarsh...@gmail.com Dear Maintainer,
Why does a tiny package like feh depend on a large, seemingly-unrelated one like yudit-common? As far as I can see, it's a debian-specific thing added in Feb 2018 with package version 2.23.2-1: "Use yudit.ttf from yudit-common package"; but I can't find any reason for the change? Why the new dep? Why that package specifically instead of some generic font package? -- System Information: Debian Release: 11.6 APT prefers stable-updates APT policy: (500, 'stable-updates'), (500, 'stable-security'), (500, 'stable') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Kernel: Linux 5.10.0-21-amd64 (SMP w/4 CPU threads) Locale: LANG=en_US.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_US.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8), LANGUAGE not set Shell: /bin/sh linked to /usr/bin/dash Init: systemd (via /run/systemd/system) LSM: AppArmor: enabled Versions of packages feh depends on: ii libc6 2.31-13+deb11u5 ii libcurl4 7.74.0-1.3+deb11u5 ii libexif12 0.6.22-3 ii libimlib2 1.7.1-2 ii libpng16-16 1.6.37-3 ii libx11-6 2:1.7.2-1 ii libxinerama1 2:1.1.4-2 pn yudit-common <none> Versions of packages feh recommends: ii libjpeg-turbo-progs [libjpeg-progs] 1:2.0.6-4 feh suggests no packages.
