thank you for reporting this issue and sorry for the inconvenience of it. In later 3.x versions and specifically in the 4.x, there have been quite some fixes regarding the 'grow' functionallity. I could not reproduce this bug with the current mdadm in stable nor in testing/unstable. Give that and that the bug is really old, I'm closing it. Feel free to reopen it if you can reproduce it with a current system. Regards, Daniel
