Package: lists.debian.org
Severity: wishlist

Hi,

following the discussion here on debconf about "Representing Debian", we
decided to try to use two new lists to coordinate the communication of
Debian to the external world.

Name:
debian-publicity@lists.debian.org
[EMAIL PROTECTED]

Rationale:
We're a large group of people who are interested to improve the
external communication of Debian and we need mailing list to coordinate
the work. This list will be used:
- to setup a common infrastructure that could be reused by anyone doing a
Debian booth (and setup for example a calendar to share the "physical"
  resources as effectively as possible)
- to improve the existing events webpages
- to draft and propose Debian announces
- to collect information that should be communicated to the wider Debian
  audience

Short description:
debian-publicity: Coordinating Debian's external communication
debian-publicity: Coordinating Debian's external communication -- private
issues only

Long description:
debian-publicity:
This list is used to coordinate all the work related to the external
communication of Debian: drafting new announces, collecting important
information that Debian should relay to its community, improving the
infrastructure offered to people who want to create Debian booth, etc.

debian-publicity-private:
This list covers the same topic than debian-publicity except that it
handles issues that can't be handled on a public list like coordinating
press releases with other parties.

Category:
debian-publicity: Miscellaneous Debian lists
debian-publicity-private: Miscellaneous Debian lists

Subscription policy:
debian-publicity: open
debian-publicity-private: open to all DD, and some "admin" could add
non-DD if needed. The admins should be the press team aka Martin Joey
Schulze <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> and Alexander Schmehl <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>

Post policy:
debian-publicity: open
debian-publicity-private: open

Web archive:
debian-publicity: yes
debian-publicity-private: no (but archives should be available to DD on
master like debian-private)

Thanks!
