Package: os-prober Version: 1.81 Severity: wishlist X-Debbugs-Cc: bea...@videotron.ca
Debian Sid updated Grub today and when os-prober ran via update-grub it did not detect my OpenSuse Tumbleweed partition. The update had installed the new Grub so I could not boot into Tumbleweed. Now I have held all the grub packages so I won't be faced with this again. The Tumbleweed grub installation and it's version of os-prober does detect both Debian and Fedora on another partition. FYI Fedoras os-prober also doesn't detect Tumbleweed but that's a problem I'll report to them. -- System Information: Debian Release: bookworm/sid APT prefers stable-security APT policy: (500, 'stable-security'), (500, 'unstable'), (500, 'testing') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Kernel: Linux 6.1.0-3-amd64 (SMP w/4 CPU threads; PREEMPT) Locale: LANG=en_US.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_US.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8), LANGUAGE not set Shell: /bin/sh linked to /usr/bin/dash Init: systemd (via /run/systemd/system) Versions of packages os-prober depends on: ii grub-common 2.06-8 ii libc6 2.36-8 ii mount 2.38.1-4 os-prober recommends no packages. os-prober suggests no packages. -- no debconf information
