In my experience systemd's init script handling works pretty well > and I haven't really noticed a difference. The init script handling, provided by systemd-sysv-generator(8), will not stay forever. As pointed out by jmm@, systemd also has a lot of new features that cannot be used by init scripts: no need for PID files, and a lot of sandboxing options. Thanks, Chris
