Package: python3-numpy Version: 1:1.24.1-2 Severity: normal X-Debbugs-Cc: noreply+debian.reportbug.python3-nu...@adaptivetime.com
I have read existing bug reports complaining about depending on multiple versions of python3. My understanding is that this is due to support requirements for multiple python interpreter versions. Since there are version dependent files in the python3-numpy package, it stands to reason that version dependent files should be moved into their own packages (e.g. python3-numpy-3.10 and python3-numpy-3.11) which in turn would depend on specific versions of python. -- System Information: Debian Release: bookworm/sid APT prefers unstable APT policy: (500, 'unstable'), (500, 'testing') merged-usr: no Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Foreign Architectures: i386 Kernel: Linux 5.18.0-2-amd64 (SMP w/8 CPU threads; PREEMPT) Locale: LANG=en_US.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_US.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8), LANGUAGE not set Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Init: sysvinit (via /sbin/init) LSM: AppArmor: enabled Versions of packages python3-numpy depends on: ii libblas3 [libblas.so.3] 3.11.0-2 ii libc6 2.36-8 ii liblapack3 [liblapack.so.3] 3.11.0-2 ii libopenblas0-pthread [liblapack.so.3] 0.3.21+ds-4 ii python3 3.11.1-1 ii python3-pkg-resources 65.6.3-1 ii python3.10 3.10.9-1 ii python3.11 3.11.1-2 python3-numpy recommends no packages.
