I've tried to reproduce this by running $ pkexec echo bla On both my Pinephone running Mobian, as well as on my Librem 5 running PureOS the polkit authentication dialog is presented. If you send a SIGUSR1 to phosh you can enable debug logging. You should find something like the following in your journal: Jan 17 18:10:04 hades phosh[1264]: New prompt for Authentication is needed to run `/usr/bin/echo' as the super user Jan 17 18:10:04 hades phosh[1264]: Adding PHOSH_STATE_MODAL_SYSTEM_PROMPT to shells state.
