You can also just run it manually if it was a script (by running ./tests/foo), also you can just copy the command line for a Command: test into the terminal and it shouldn't break. All that of course with the test depends installed.

This (almost) is equivalent to "null" virtualization. Nothing mandates a test inĀ  tests/* is supposed to be *only* ran by autopkgtest :)
