First, twm was never required to be installed.
menu-methods/twm should be moved to the twm package.
Second, /etc/menu-methods/twm is not in the menu package.
Maybe the problem you hit is bug #364255 ? The new twm
package is missing the file /etc/menu-methods/twm.
Hmm. I could have sworn that /etc/menu-methods/twm was listed by a
dpkg-query -S. But now all I see is /usr/share/doc/menu/examples/twm.
Chalk this one up to user error.
