Package: python3-h5py Followup-For: Bug #1023820 This would seem to be a bug in hdf5, not h5py. The shlibs configuration for libhdf5-serial-dev does not seem to be adding the version for libhdf5-103-1 (see python3-h5py-serial), while libhdf5-openmpi-dev does add the version for libhdf5-openmpi-103-1 (see python3-h5py-mpi).
Nevertheless the error doesn't really make sense. Your system should have installed libhdf5-103-1 providing the required /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libhdf5_serial.so.103 What is your installed version of libhdf5-103-1 ?
