It runs everything as expected, autodetects hardware, sets up partitions well, installs the base system and runs the replacement for base-config which is how I get to my problem. Originally this machine ran Windows along side Debian, so the hardware clock had to be set to local time not UTC. Both base-config and the new installer handle setting this to localtime during the install fine. However since I wiped my Windows install away I need to reset that to UTC for the installed system. On Sarge and prior versions I could run base-config at a later date and update these settings as needed. However base-config was replaced in etch by the d-I udebs for the same task. As a result the base-config tools available in Sarge are now missing in etch. Were these replaced by a different package? Were they simply removed? If so could we use the code in the old base-config package to recreate the feature? Any ideas? Thanks, Matthew McGuire
