I can no longer reproduce the problem. I don't know what happened.
These versions work for me:
ii gdisk 1.0.9-2.1 amd64 GPT fdisk text-mode partitioning
tool
ii libpopt0:amd64 1.19+dfsg-1 amd64 lib for parsing cmdline parameters
