The Debian package does not install email.tmpl, and even if that file is copied manually into the /usr/share/prometheus/alertmanager, it does not resolve the issue. Concatenating the contents of email.tmpl to default.tmpl restores the former functionality, and can be considered a workaround for now.
I guess the behaviour of 02-Do_not_embed_blobs.patch is going to need to be refactored to handle multiple templates, or alternatively the package build process will need to concatenate the email.tmpl into default.tmpl.
