Source: gstreamer1.0
Version: 1.20.3-1
Severity: wishlist

Hi gstreamer maintainers,

according to [1], gstreamer 1.22 is planned to be released on December
26 this year. This is 17 days before the transition and toolchain
freeze. Do you think it makes sense to aim for 1.22 in bookworm?

Independent of the above:

 - do you think it would make sense to have 1.21.x (and later 1.22) in
   experimental?
 - are you planning to follow the upstream move into a mono-repo for the
   individual source packages?
 - do you need any help?

My motivation: I own the MNT Reform laptop which runs on an IMX8MQ board
and uses Hantro G1 and G2 for hardware video decoding. But this needs
v4l2slh265dec from gst-plugins-bad...

Thanks!

cheers, josch
