Ok. So my testing yesterday was wrong, and I just tested a hidden file as the symlink target. What a shame. So, back to this bugreport: it looks like samba does all the right thing with symlinks now - at least bullseye 4.13 and bullseye-backports 4.16 and unstable 4.17 all does well in this context. It looks like this bug can be closed? Thanks, /mjt
