Package: evince Version: 0.4.0-1+b1 Severity: normal I have my CUPS printer configured to print in duplex by default, using both sides of the sheet of paper in order to save trees and space.
Every so often I need to print single-sided, so I want to uncheck the printer configuration box which sets duplex printing. In evince however, this choice of single-sided printing is not working. In the Print dialog at the Printer tab, I click on "Configure". There I see the "Duplex" checkbox. Strangely it is already unchecked, even though the printer is configured in CUPS to have duplex already switched on. I click on the box, implying I have just switched duplex on, then I click it again, off. So the configuration is telling my I've selected single-sided printing. However the page still comes out double-sided. In fact the result is the same with any of the permutations: - do nothing (don't touch configure at all): prints double-sided (this is ok, it's what I want for default behaviour) - do nothing (go into configure but then press "close" straight away): prints double-sided. This is bad since configure says it's duplex is "off" - click duplex "on": double sided. - click duplex "on" and then "off" in the same configure instance: double-sided. Really bad since here I explicitly selected single-sided. - click duplex "on", close configure, enter configure again and then click duplex "off": double-sided. Also really bad since I explicitly selected single-sided. In each and every case the job comes out double-sided even when I select duplex "off". The fact that duplex is not marked "on" to begin with, reflecting the default configuration is also a worry. It looks as if the Print dialog box is not successfully communicating with the CUPS printer to collect and provide all its settings.
