Package: rsyslog Version: 8.2210.0-1 Forwarded: https://github.com/rsyslog/rsyslog/issues/4975
After upgrading from 8.2208.0-1, I noticed that the format of the log messages had changed for the worse, e.g. for rsyslog itself I see Oct 20 18:15:25 [localhost] systemd[1]: Starting System Logging Service... rather than the actual hostname. This could break some log parsing scripts, a workaround is to run # pkill -HUP rsyslogd The problem has also been reported upstream today at https://github.com/rsyslog/rsyslog/issues/4975 (scroll down until the messages from Oct 20), and a proposed fix has landed in a feature branch, see https://github.com/rsyslog/rsyslog/pull/5004. -- System Information: Debian Release: bookworm/sid APT prefers unstable APT policy: (500, 'unstable'), (101, 'experimental') merged-usr: no Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Foreign Architectures: i386 Kernel: Linux 5.10.149-nouveau (SMP w/2 CPU threads) Locale: LANG=de_DE.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=de_DE.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8), LANGUAGE not set Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Init: systemd (via /run/systemd/system) Versions of packages rsyslog depends on: ii libc6 2.35-3 ii libestr0 0.1.11-1 ii libfastjson4 0.99.9-2 ii liblognorm5 2.0.6-4 ii libsystemd0 251.6-1 ii libuuid1 2.38.1-1.1+b1 ii libzstd1 1.5.2+dfsg-1 ii zlib1g 1:1.2.11.dfsg-4.1 Versions of packages rsyslog recommends: ii logrotate 3.20.1-1+b1 Versions of packages rsyslog suggests: ii rsyslog-doc 8.2210.0+dfsg-1 pn rsyslog-gssapi <none> pn rsyslog-mongodb <none> pn rsyslog-mysql | rsyslog-pgsql <none> pn rsyslog-openssl | rsyslog-gnutls <none> pn rsyslog-relp <none> -- no debconf information
