the config file /etc/schroot/schroot.conf ships the following example of file-based chroot: #[lenny-file] #description=Debian lenny (oldstable) #file=/srv/chroot/lenny.tar.gz #location=/lenny #groups=sbuild The example does not work as is, it needs "type=file" too.
