Package: mimedefang Version: 2.56-1 Severity: important MIMEDefang 2.57-BETA-1, or a patch sent to the list about 23 Apr corrects a deficiency in support of new spamassassin.
sa-update will grab new rules, and incorporate them into spamassassin or spamc runs... It does that by using a new variable LOCAL_STATE_DIR which is set to '/var/lib' on Debian. Mimedefang does not pass set that variable when creating a new filter instance - and so misses any updated rules :( The patch, or the Beta release allow for Mimedefang to properly see the new rules. -- System Information: Debian Release: testing/unstable APT prefers testing-proposed-updates APT policy: (500, 'testing-proposed-updates'), (500, 'proposed-updates'), (500, 'unstable'), (500, 'testing'), (500, 'stable') Architecture: i386 (i686) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Kernel: Linux 2.6.16 Locale: LANG=en_US.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_US.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Versions of packages mimedefang depends on: ii debconf [debconf-2.0] 1.5.0 Debian configuration management sy ii libc6 2.3.6-7 GNU C Library: Shared libraries ii libdigest-sha1-perl 2.10-1 NIST SHA-1 message digest algorith ii libio-stringy-perl 2.110-1 Perl5 modules for IO from scalars ii libmailtools-perl 1.74-0.1 Manipulate email in perl programs ii libmime-perl 5.420-0.1 Perl5 modules for MIME-compliant m ii libperl5.8 5.8.8-4 Shared Perl library ii libunix-syslog-perl 0.100-4 Perl interface to the UNIX syslog( ii perl [libmime-base64-perl] 5.8.8-4 Larry Wall's Practical Extraction ii psmisc 22.2-1 Utilities that use the proc filesy ii sendmail 8.13.6-1 powerful, efficient, and scalable Versions of packages mimedefang recommends: ii tk8.3 [wish] 8.3.5-6 Tk toolkit for Tcl and X11, v8.3 - ii tk8.4 [wish] 8.4.12-1 Tk toolkit for Tcl and X11, v8.4 - -- debconf information: * mimedefang/embedperl: true -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
