do you have an approximate ETA when you could do an upload of kmod that fixes
this issue?  My package mmdebstrap is marked for autoremoval from testing on
November 6 because of #1020593 which is blocked by this bug.

If you don't mind I can also NMU kmod, so that you don't have to do the work.
