Hi, Thanks for your contribution to Debian. After checking the code, it looks like the IGNORECASE setting is used to avoid problems when the script is running under Cygwin. It looks like it would be safe to remove the setting for Debian. I will do some testing to see if I can avoid depending on gawk.
