renders as (with ąĄ for underlined aA):
ą___ ĄBCD
which is "not what I'd expect" at least and given that this works for
individual columns just fine I'd hazard a guess that it's "just wrong".
(The former is a very popular style from the time of actual
typewriters-as-terminals that I run into constantly.
I haven't encountered the latter in the wild I think.)
