Package: ftp.debian.org Severity: normal X-Debbugs-Cc: codeh...@debian.org xprobe is an old package with no upstream development - the old SF page links to a Wiki, other links in d.copyright go to 404.
The current RC bug can be fixed but the package no longer works in a useful manner. xprobe is unable to probe a standard Debian install but it goes on to print a useless report containing mangled UTF-8 codes. The most likely alternative package is nmap. There is no need for xprobe in Debian any longer.
