It currently has no rdeps in main and has been superseded by golang-gopkg-rethinkdb- rethinkdb-go.v6. Additionally, this package was identified as FTBFS with the version of golang-goprotobuf currently staged in experimental that will eventually be uploaded to unstable [1].
In addition to the message sent to the debian-go list, I also directly contacted Arnaud Rebillout (CC'ed) who is this package's uploader to see if he had any objections to a RM bug being filed. He concurred that there's no need for this package to be in the archive anymore.
