Package: snmpd
Version: 5.1.2-6.2
Severity: important

Fetching HOST-RESOURCES-MIB::hrStorageAllocationFailures.2 causes snmpd to
spinlock (strace says its constantly trying to open /etc/mtab)

This appears to be the same bug as discussed here:
http://sourceforge.net/tracker/index.php?func=detail&aid=986238&group_id=12694&atid=112694

But this patch appears to be applied already.

To reproduce:
1. apt-get install snmpd snmp
2. Edit /etc/snmp/snmpd.conf, comment out the paranoid com2sec line (line
61), and uncomment line 62 (the com2sec readonly line).
3. /etc/init.d/snmpd restart
4. snmpget -v 1 -c public localhost .1.3.6.1.2.1.25.2.3.1.7.2

This will set snmpd to 100% CPU and will not answer any further requests.
