I'm currently revisiting "wontfix" bugs for shadow. That about about pwck complaining about /nonexistent has been mentioned to be more a feature than a bug. Up to now, I haven't seen any objection to this assumption. Moreover, since then, noone else mentioned this issue so it seems less likely that it is reported again if closed.
Therefore, I'm considering closing it now (and, yes, this is also because I want shadow to be bug-free...:-))) --
