* What led up to the situation?
I don't really know. I just updated debian testing to latest version and
somewhere along the way through 5.17-5.18 kernels it started to happen.
* What exactly did you do (or not do) that was effective (or
ineffective)?
Really, nothing at all was effective. Only checking the network manager option
for activating wireless each time i boot.
* What was the outcome of this action?
It works until some package gets upgraded and services are restarted or next
boot
* What outcome did you expect instead?
It should work on boot and on service restart.
