Source: opus-tools Version: 0.1.10-1 Severity: important Dear Maintainer,
I intend to salvage the package "opus-tools", for the following reasons: - a new upstream release of "opus-tools" has been available for some years: - 0.2 (in 2018) [#910261] - no visible packaging activity for 1942 days - the last upload by the current maintainer was 2017-01-23 - there has been an NMU upload on 2022-02-03 to a serious FTBFS bug [#965759], that has gone unacknowledged so far. - there are 2 open wishlist bug reports since 2018-04-10 not a single bug report has seen *any* reaction from the current maintainer. neither has [#965759] (which is no longer open, as it was closed by the aforementioned NMU] I'm aware that the maintainer of "opus-tools" does not usually want to make packaging changes without specific reasons, but I don't think that this allows for completely ignoring open bug-reports of severity SERIOUS for more than 1½ year. I'm happy with co-maintaining the package (although my stance at maintenance is definitely more aggressive with regard to updating to the latest and greatest source format, dh-compat and the like). I would more than welcome maintenance of the package under the multimedia-team umbrella. it would be great to hear something from the current maintainer of "opus-tools". cheers -- System Information: Debian Release: bookworm/sid APT prefers unstable-debug APT policy: (500, 'unstable-debug'), (500, 'testing-debug'), (500, 'oldstable-updates'), (500, 'unstable'), (500, 'stable'), (500, 'oldstable'), (1, 'experimental') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Foreign Architectures: i386 Kernel: Linux 5.17.0-1-amd64 (SMP w/8 CPU threads; PREEMPT) Kernel taint flags: TAINT_PROPRIETARY_MODULE, TAINT_OOT_MODULE, TAINT_UNSIGNED_MODULE Locale: LANG=C.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=C.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8), LANGUAGE not set Shell: /bin/sh linked to /usr/bin/dash Init: systemd (via /run/systemd/system) LSM: AppArmor: enabled
