Dear Maintainer,

since the samba version in jessie was updated to 4.2 we have an issue with our
server that renders shares unusable. After they've been accessed for a small
amount of time, the log constantly shows:

single_accept_connection: accept: NT_STATUS_TOO_MANY_OPENED_FILES

In fact each samba process' /proc/*/limits file shows:

Max open files 1024 4096 files

Hi!

I'm replying to an old bug report, jessie is now very old.
Samba is running as root and it adjusts number of open files to
at least 16k (see max open files in smb.conf). You have to
take look at the process limits of running smbd to see the
actual value. And you can't change it externally either.

Anyway, is this issue still relevant with the current version
of samba (4.13)?

Thanks,

/mjt
