A patch for: https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/gtk/-/issues/4517 was recently merged to the upstream Gtk 4.6 branch: https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/gtk/-/merge_requests/4670/ Among potentially numerous other applications, this affected xdg-desktop-portal-gnome for me, because the window chooser dialog for screen sharing incurred a hang with the message in the subject line repeated ad infinitum. By building my own gtk package (see the "2ak" versions below), I was able to confirm that the patch in the MR addresses the issue. I think it would be useful to release a patched version of Gtk4.
