Hi! Do you still have this problem with current version of samba and amanda? I suspect the issue you had with stretch samba (4.4) update -- ERROR: MYSERVER: smbclient: Error reading password from file descriptor 3: empty password - has been fixed quite long time ago in amanda. Thank you! /mjt
