I added udf because Ubuntu users found that when they created DVDs with certain tools on other systems and mounted them on Ubuntu (or, for that matter, on Debian) they got 8+3 file names rather than long file names: https://launchpad.net/distros/ubuntu/+bug/7682 It would be a shame to lose that, although I admit that I don't know exactly how widespread the need for UDF support is; but the change still makes logical sense to me. As far as I know, the ",iso9660" normally causes fallback to ISO9660 without any problems. This particular issue feels like it might be a bug in the kernel's UDF filesystem code, although without analysing the DVD in question it's hard to be sure of that.
