I think the problem here is that older versions of GNOME Shell did not specify its required version of the GWeather API. When you upgraded some other package that pulled in gir1.2-gweather-4.0, GNOME Shell started to load that instead of gir1.2-gweather-3.0, but the newer version has an incompatible API, causing this crash. If that's correct, then upgrading to GNOME Shell 42 (from unstable) should avoid the crash. smcv
