We're about to upgrade to gnome-shell 42 in unstable, and
gnome-shell-extension-desktop-icons still hasn't been updated to be
compatible with gnome-shell 41, so it seems like time to remove it from
unstable.
The closest replacement is gnome-shell-extension-desktop-icons-ng, but
a transitional package would not be useful here, because each extension
needs to be enabled separately on a per-user basis (behind the scenes,
GNOME Shell configuration has a list of enabled extension UUIDs),
meaning that users of g-s-e-desktop-icons need manual action to switch
to g-s-e-desktop-icons-ng in any case.
This removal request is on behalf of the GNOME team, acked by jbicha
(in the extension's Uploaders) on IRC.
