Package: gsm-utils Version: 1.10-9 Followup-For: Bug #353967
the postinst script should be using the ``addgroup --system gsmsms'' command to add entries to /etc/group. The way it is doing this now prevents addition of new users to the system once gsm-utils is installed. This is what happened to me after I tried to add a user after installing gsm-utils.
