Package: nedit Version: 1:5.7-3 Severity: important Dear Maintainer,
*** Reporter, please consider answering these questions, where appropriate *** * What led up to the situation? Open several files with nedit, then close one * What exactly did you do (or not do) that was effective (or ineffective)? Open separate files with separate instances of nedit. * What was the outcome of this action? Mostly, this keeps the keyboard working, but sometimes, even if a nedit instance is editing only one file, the keyboard stops working. * What outcome did you expect instead? I expect the keyboard to continue to work. I downloaded nedit 5.7 source and tried to compile it. If I link it dynamically, the same problem occurs. The problem is probably in a library that nedit uses, or in the way that nedit is using it. I cannot link it statically. ld produces hundreds of "undefined reference" errors. *** End of the template - remove these template lines *** -- System Information: Debian Release: 11.2 APT prefers stable APT policy: (745, 'stable'), (500, 'oldstable-updates'), (500, 'testing'), (500, 'oldstable') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Foreign Architectures: i386 Kernel: Linux 5.10.0-10-amd64 (SMP w/4 CPU threads) Kernel taint flags: TAINT_PROPRIETARY_MODULE, TAINT_OOT_MODULE, TAINT_UNSIGNED_MODULE Locale: LANG=en_US.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_US.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8), LANGUAGE not set Shell: /bin/sh linked to /usr/bin/dash Init: systemd (via /run/systemd/system) LSM: AppArmor: enabled Versions of packages nedit depends on: ii libc6 2.31-13+deb11u2 ii libx11-6 2:1.7.2-1 ii libxm4 2.3.8-3 ii libxt6 1:1.2.0-1 Versions of packages nedit recommends: ii xfonts-100dpi 1:1.0.4+nmu1.1 ii xfonts-75dpi 1:1.0.4+nmu1.1 Versions of packages nedit suggests: pn csh <none>
