Dear Maintainers,
when running xymon client in localmode, messages that are bigger than
512 Kb get truncated with the following error in
/var/log/xymon/xymonclient.log:
2022-03-10 11:07:40.276970 Got over-size message, truncating at 528383
bytes (max: 524288)
2022-03-10 11:07:40.287438 Dropping (more) garbled data
This problem does not go away, if MAXMSG_CLIENT=1024 (for example) on
the xymon server get set and activated, because the client ignores this
setting.
The solution is to set MAXMSG_CLIENT=1024 on the client in
/etc/xymon/xymonclient.cfg:
MAXMSG_CLIENT=1024
Best regards
Christoph Zechner
