Uploading a package that will FTBFS on 64-bit archs instead of building broken packages is a reasonable fix for the release-criticality of this bug; it also requires the approval/intervention of an ftp-master to remove the Once this is done the bug should be downgraded to important, which is the normal severity for non-RC portability bugs.
