the file conflict is still there, these 4 files are shipped in both packages: usr/share/doc/libvkd3d-dev/ANNOUNCE.gz usr/share/doc/libvkd3d-dev/AUTHORS usr/share/doc/libvkd3d-dev/README usr/share/doc/libvkd3d-dev/README.debian This is probably fallout from dh_installdocs in debhelper compat level 11+ where documentation is installed into the doc path of the "main package". (README.debian is an unusual name, it's usually README.Debian) Andreas
