Package: xserver-xorg-video-all Version: 1:7.7+22 Severity: important X-Debbugs-Cc: nils+debian-report...@dieweltistgarnichtso.net
Dear Maintainer, on my computer (Thinkpad T60) X11 would not start, throwing an error about OpenGL 2.1 being required. I was very concerned, since the GPU does not support OpenGL 2.1. I had already installed xserver-xorg-video-all and was very confused. Only as I noticed that xserver-xorg-video-intel was not a dependency, but merely recommended, I figured out that I could try to install it. I suspect that someone assumed that some fallback driver would be able to handle the situation. Clearly, this is not the case. I therefore ask for xserver-xorg-video-all to please depend on xserver-xorg-video-intel. --- snib --- ; glxinfo |grep OpenGL OpenGL vendor string: Intel Open Source Technology Center OpenGL renderer string: Mesa DRI Intel(R) 945GM x86/MMX/SSE2 OpenGL version string: 1.4 Mesa 20.3.5 OpenGL extensions: OpenGL ES profile version string: OpenGL ES 2.0 Mesa 20.3.5 OpenGL ES profile shading language version string: OpenGL ES GLSL ES 1.0.16 OpenGL ES profile extensions: --- snab --- Greetings, Nils Moskopp -- System Information: Debian Release: 11.2 APT prefers stable APT policy: (900, 'stable'), (500, 'oldoldstable') Architecture: i386 (i686) Kernel: Linux 5.10.0-10-686 (SMP w/2 CPU threads) Locale: LANG=de_DE.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=de_DE.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8), LANGUAGE not set Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Init: systemd (via /run/systemd/system) LSM: AppArmor: enabled Versions of packages xserver-xorg-video-all depends on: ii xserver-xorg-video-amdgpu 19.1.0-2 ii xserver-xorg-video-ati 1:19.1.0-2 ii xserver-xorg-video-fbdev 1:0.5.0-1 ii xserver-xorg-video-nouveau 1:1.0.17-1 ii xserver-xorg-video-vesa 1:2.5.0-1 ii xserver-xorg-video-vmware 1:13.3.0-3 Versions of packages xserver-xorg-video-all recommends: ii xserver-xorg-video-intel 2:2.99.917+git20200714-1+b1 pn xserver-xorg-video-qxl <none> xserver-xorg-video-all suggests no packages. -- no debconf information
