I did some digging, and discovered that setting use_pty is indeed what makes the difference. Installing sudo 1.9.8 and manually commenting out use_pty fixes the problem. I've no idea why, though. Maybe sshuttle needs to pass some extra options to sudo in order to work around this? T -- In theory, there is no difference between theory and practice.
