And I suspect this may be a legal issue. I read the FAQ at http://macromedia.rediris.es/faq.html, where item 1 says I should have run /usr/lib/flash-plugin/setup, except that there is no such file; the only files in /usr/lib/flashplugin-nonfree are the .so file and the .xpt file.
