Anyway, after each new installation or upgrade, gnunet will be launched since you have launch_at_startup set to yes (whenever it was running before or not).


The "smartest" way to start/stop the deamon is to use the init script:
/etc/init.d/gnunet start/stop/restart

If everything's fine, could you close the bug ?

BTW please take a look at #294794 too.
